Subject: Overwintering ipomoea tubers
Comments: I used the ipomoea tricolor in several containers and hanging pots. When I emptied the soil from these pots I had HUGE tubers the size of large yams you buy in the grocery store no wonder the pots were so heavy. I know they probably arent edible because I used Bayer 3 in one rose care solution several times during the year in addition to Bayer insect and disease spray. However,I would like to know if I can save these tubers and plant them next year to grow the tricolor vine again and if this is possible what is the exact procedure Since the tubers are so big should I cut in pieces, if so what size and when should I do this Thank you.
